The Bowser Take Over

Posted on July 4, 2017 at 12:23 PM by Lysa Gonzalez

In honor of National Take Your Dog to Work Day, we let Bowser the Schnauzer take over. We enjoyed a much needed day off as Bowser led us all across town to his favorite spots.

Stop #1: Nate's
We started the morning off right...with coffee! If the wiener dog logo doesn't tell you, this coffee and cocktail spot is pet friendly. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, you can find your perfect morning, afternoon and night routine on the comfy outdoor patio. Located in the historic Buda Mill & Grain complex, Nate's has something for everyone's tastes with a full bar, seasonal rotating taps, wide wine selection and premium coffee. They also have a good selection of baked goods and grab-n-go meals.

Stop #2: Friends of Buda Dog Park

Now that we were pumped with caffeine, we had a ton of energy to kill. We headedover to the newly constructed dog park off of FM 967. Maintained by the volunteer organization, Friends of Buda Dog Park, the grounds has two separate small and big dog areas--both fully equipped with a to-size agility course and plenty of running space to play.

Stop #3: Shaggy Dog Market
After all that rolling in the dirt, we were filthy! Luckily just a couple blocks away is the Shaggy Dog Market, a pet market and self-service dog wash. A good bath was a welcome treat with soothing tea tree oil shampoo, conditioning treatment, and a blow-dry. If leaving all the mess there instead of our own home wasn't enough of a treat, they have a wide selection of healthy foods, gourmet treats and toys to choose from.

Stop #4: Willie's Joint
After a long day of playing hard our tummies led us to Willie's Joint. We chowed down arguably some of the best barbecue in town as we enjoyed the huge out door seating area equipped with misting fans, newly built playscape and outdoor bar. If food isn't what you're looking for, they make a delicious margarita to complement the outdoor heat.

Every Friday we’ll be posting our adventures around town. Tell us where to go next or share your own Buda adventures with us by using #visitbudatx. See you on the trail!
